San Francisco Bay Cruise<\/h2>\n

The San Francisco Bay Cruise<\/strong> brought us to see the sea lions on Pier 39<\/strong>, the famous Alcatraz<\/strong> (in the bottom-right picture below), and cruising up close and under the iconic \u00a0Golden Gate Bridge<\/strong>. \u00a0The bay area was extremely windy and cold. Luckily, we had the proper jackets to keep us warm while seated at the open deck area of the boat.<\/p>\n

Pier 39<\/h2>\n

After the cruise, we walked around the pier where we disembarked i.e.\u00a0Pier 39<\/strong>. Pier 39<\/strong> offers a variety of dining and shopping options. \u00a0We especially liked the fresh sweet strawberries with the chocolate dipping sauce. \u00a0Yum!<\/p>\n

San Francisco 49-Mile Scenic Drive<\/h2>\n
The San Francisco<\/strong>\u00a049-Mile Scenic Drive<\/strong> is a good way to get an introduction to San Francisco<\/strong>. \u00a0We covered this route in a day, including a few stops, and a detour to see the Painted<\/strong> Ladies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We also got a good view of the\u00a0Golden Gate Bridge<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0the Presidio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adventureswithfamily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/San-Francisco-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Cost Tower\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Twin Peaks<\/h2>\nAs we continued on the 49-mile drive,\u00a0we\u00a0drove up the hill to\u00a0Twin Peaks<\/strong> where we got a vantage view of San Francisco from up Tea Garden<\/h2>\nOur next stop was the Japanese Tea Garden<\/strong>\u00a0located inside the Golden Gate Park. \u00a0The Japanese-style garden provides such a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and Arts<\/h2>\nMy favourite place in San Francisco is The Palace of the Fine Arts. \u00a0It is such a beautiful\u00a0and serene place with its majestic architecture around a lagoon that had several swans gliding peacefully by.<\/p>\nLook at how tiny my daughter was as compared to the monumental structure.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n<a Ladies<\/h2>\nOur last stop of the day was to see the Painted Ladies. \u00a0 The Painted Ladies do not refer to the local ladies living in San Francisco, but it refers to a\u00a0row of colourful Edwardian and Victorian houses. \u00a0It is\u00a0a very popular attraction\u00a0seen\u00a0on many San Francisco postcards.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adventureswithfamily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/San-Francisco-Painted-Ladies.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1589 size-full\" more time, we would have covered more areas like the\u00a0Lombard Street, America’s most crooked street, the\u00a0San Francisco Zoo and the Exploratorium. \u00a0If we had not gone to the outlet mall
