When I heard that there would be a month-long Tulipmania event at Gardens by the Bay, I said to myself “I gotta go see!”. After all, with kids in school until end of May, I didn’t think that I would ever get a chance to see the famous tulip gardens in Amsterdam with them until I am old and grey. The colourful tulips, flown all the way from Amsterdam, made the largest tulip display that Singapore has ever seen.
Before heading to the the Gardens by the Bay, look for discounted tickets online at on Govoyagin.com and avoid the long queue at the ticket counter. The tulips were in the cooled Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay, so get tickets for the Flower Dome, or a combined ticket for both Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.
The scent of thousands of flowers filled the huge Flower Dome.
The Flower Dome was decorated with windmills and wooden clog shoes.
I like the picture below of tulips in a wooden wheelbarrow surrounded by different types of flowers.
You might probably figure out by now that I am a fan of tulips. Here are more pictures of beautiful tulips.
Look out for the next Tulipmania at Gardens by the Bay between April and May.

A Friendly Tip
I didn’t expect a huge crowd at Tulipmania given that it was quite close to the school exams. Surprisingly, we had to queue for an hour to get the tickets! Even the car park was full. We had to park at a distant car park and walk through the open-air garden to get to the Flower Dome. If you are thinking of visiting, I think visiting on a week day will be your best bet. If that’s not possible, try visiting early in the morning when it first opens. The queue got longer towards the afternoon.
