Did you know that New Zealand has a castle? In fact, there is only one castle in the whole of New Zealand, and that is the Larnach Castle in Dunedin. Although it was possible to tour the castle’s interior, we spent all our time there at the beautiful gardens surrounding the castle.
I was especially blown away by the spectacular view of the Otago Peninsula below from the gardens at Larnach Castle.

According to its website (www.larnachcastle.co.nz) the gardens at Larnach Castle has been rated by New Zealand’s Gardens Trust as the Garden of International Significance. It has a unique collection of amazing plants and flowers.

It was a good thing that we went in late November/early December when the flowers were blooming.
