Legoland Germany

Legoland Deutschland is a Lego-themed amusement park located in Gunzburg, Germany.  The park had close to 100 attractions and rides.  This included Legoland Atlantis by the Sea,  a pirate playground, Captain Nick’s splash battle, a safari with animals made of lego, and many types of rides for kids including lego boats, lego cars, lego horses, and lego aeroplane.  My kids’ favourite ride was the Aquazone Wave Racers.  They went on that ride over and over again.

There was an area where my kids had the chance to build vehicles using lego pieces and raced with other kids. The Hero factory was also quite interesting for the kiddos as they got to see how lego pieces were manufactured.  You could buy all sorts of lego pieces in various colors from the factory.

The miniature cities were pretty remarkable.  It had lego miniatures of various cities in Europe, including Germany’s Neuchwanstein “Cinderella” Castle, the gondolas in Venice,  and the Dutch windmills.

One great souvenir were car plates customised with my kids’ names.  They got to choose the colour of the car plates and font to use.

You can purchase tickets in advance at Legoland Deutschland website.

Beyond Legoland

The visit to Legoland was part of our 15-day Europe with kids adventures.  After a fun-filled day at Legoland, we drove about 2.5 hours to our next hotel called Hotel Engel.  This hotel was a short distance away from our destination the next day, i.e. Europa-Park.
