Sydney with Kids

Sydney is a vibrant city with lots of things to do with kids. It was not difficult to explore Sydney with kids, even with my 7-month-old baby. By basing ourselves in just one hotel in the city, we had more flexibility in our itinerary.

Sydney is quite a family-friendly place. There were also a number of great places to go in Sydney with kids. This included the Sydney Aquarium, the Darling Harbour, the Sydney Harbour, the Sydney Opera House and the Taronga Zoo.

5-day Itinerary for Sydney with Kids

Here is an itinerary that my 3 kids enjoyed.

DAY 1: SYDNEY TOWER & HARBOUR

We headed to the top of the Sydney Tower for a panoramic view of Sydney. We headed to the the Powerhouse Museum and then explored Darling Harbour in the evening.

DAY 2: SYDNEY AQUARIUM & FISH MARKET

We visited Mrs Macquarie’s Point to get that postcard view of the Sydney bridge and the opera house.

Visit the Sydney Aquarium, and enjoy fresh seafood at the Sydney Fish Market. Spend the evening at Darling Harbour.

DAY 3: FEATHERDALE WILDLIFE PARK

We joined a day tour to the Featherdale Wildlife Park,

BLUE MOUNTAINS

We then headed to the Blue Mountains and the Sydney Olympic Park. We returned to the city via a river cruise and had dinner at Sydney Harbour.

DAY 4: TARONGA ZOO & THE ROCK

We took a ferry to the Taronga Zoo and then headed to The Rock for some souvenir shopping. We spent the evening at Sydney Harbour.

DAY 5: DEPART SYDNEY

We said goodbye to Sydney.

Transportation in Sydney

It was not difficult to move around on public transportations with a baby and a stroller. We took the monorail most of the time when travelling within the city area. The ferries were also convenient. We only spent one day travelling outside of town, and that was to the Blue mountains. I used almost all of the transportation below.
