The Legoland Malaysia theme park in Johor Bahru offers a fun-filled day for the family with its Mini Land made from Lego pieces, rides from Lego products and Lego Build and Test zones.
Legoland Miniland
The first thing we saw near the entrance was the Miniland. While the one in Legoland Germany focused on famous landmarks in Europe, the one in Malaysia focused on famous landmarks in Asia. The intricate details of each Asian monument were amazing. Do you recognise these places?
From left to right, top to bottom: Thailand (Wat Arun), Brunei, Laos (Patuxai), Malaysia (Putrajaya) Myanmar (Karaweik Hall), Cambodia (Angkor Wat), Singapore (Merlion), China (Forbidden City), Indonesia (Tanah Lot), India (Taj Mahal), Vietnam (Hoi An), and Singapore (Flyer).
The Rides
The park had several themed areas including Lego City, Land of Adventure, Lego Kingdoms, Imagination and Lego Technic. Amongst all the rides taken, my kids loved the Aquazone Wave Racers at Lego Technic. We knew we would definitely get wet riding it, so we came prepared with raincoats, and took the ride last.
The Medieval Castle at Lego Kingdom pictured below was also the entrance to the roller coaster ride.
My two girls were too young to try out “The Dragon” roller coaster and the boat at Dino Island, so we gave those rides a miss. Maybe next time we’ll try when the kids are older.
Build and Test
Apart from rides, my kids also enjoyed the Build and Test at Legoland’s Imagination centre. It was also a respite from the blazing sun. There was an area where they built a tall building out of lego bricks and tested whether it could withstand earthquakes by activating the earthquake simulator.
My 4-year-old girl, Yan, enjoyed building a lego car and racing it down the track.
Famished after a long day at Legoland, we filled our tummies with pancakes from the Pancake House at the Mall of Medini just outside the park. I had one with banana and caramel sauce.
It was a great way to end a fun-filled day at Legoland Malaysia with the kids.
I found this deal online if you are interested to go by coach from Singapore. It is worth $130!
