What do Dinosaurs and the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival have in common?
From a historical standpoint, I haven’t the faintest idea. What I do know is that the Singapore Chinese Garden is having a Jurassic Safari during the Mid-Autumn Festival this year.
Given that it was the Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival, I was actually expecting huge dinosaur-shaped lanterns at the Chinese Garden, so I was a bit disappointed when they only had life-like versions of the dinosaurs. Nevertheless, my 3 kiddos had fun playing scavenger hunt and looking for dinosaurs all around the garden.
Apart from hunting for dinosaurs, we also took the opportunity to enjoy the garden in the early evening. I haven’t been to this garden for more than 2 decades!
Mid-Autumn Festival Show
In the evening, we got to see a Chinese acrobatic show for free.
My kids’ favourite was the show put up by the Shaolin Kung Fu Master. I was amazed by how he did what seemed to be humanly impossible, and showed us that with perseverance and hard work it was possible.
Here’s a photo of the bridge at the Chinese Garden at night.
