Zorbing in Rotorua
My son and I had a blast rolling down a hill together in a giant Zorb ball. That’s us in the in Zorb ball halfway down the hill. We did the Zydro ride, which had water injected into the ball before we rolled. There was also an option for a Zorbit ride, where you would be fastened to the inside of the ball before you rolled down the hill. I would probably throw-up if I tried the Zorbit ride. Most people went for the Zydro ride.
Agrodome Farm Tour
Agrodome is a very popular tourist attraction in New Zealand.
We started with a farm tour on a tram and saw a lot of New Zealand farm animals.
At one point, the tram stopped and allowed visitors to pet and feed the animals.
The farm animals were very friendly as you can see from the photo below.
Apart from animals, we also stopped by to see some plantations.
Agrodome Show
The Agrodome show was packed with bus-loads of tourists. Various types of sheep were introduced one-by-one. We also got to witness the milking of the cow and shearing of the sheep.
Rainbow Springs
Rainbow Springs is set amongst beautiful native trees and streams which are home to a variety of New Zealand’s precious inhabitants.
Hey, what happened to the duck’s head in the picture below?
We could collect fresh spring water directly from the tap.
Polynesian Spa
In the late afternoon, we soaked our tired bodies in the wonderfully warm hot spring pools at the Polynesian spa.
There were several different spa areas and the one we went to was the Family Spa. This spa had three pools with varying temperatures. The kids’ favourite at the Polynesian spa was the largest pool area because it had a water slide.
Rainbow Springs at Night
Our ticket to Rainbow Springs allowed us to enter multiple times within the same day. The nice lady at the ticket counter said that we had to come to Rainbow Springs in the evening because the atmosphere would be different. She was right. It was indeed different and lovely because of the colourful lights that litted the whole place.
NEXT DAY: Drive from Rotorua to Auckland and visit the Auckland Sky Tower.
The trip to Rotorua is part of our 10-day New Zealand North Island adventures.
