Angry Birds Activity Park Johor Bahru, Malaysia is Southeast Asia’s first Angry Birds theme park. Located on the third floor of the new Komtar Johor Bahru City Centre (JBCC), this 26,000 square feet indoor park offers fun activities for the whole family.
Playground for the Little Ones
The first area near the entrance was an activity area for young kids. There was the Red Bird Sona where kids were given simple maths questions and they had to run to the correct answer. Definitely more fun (and more tiring) than doing it on a PC or tablet. There was also Captain Black Bird’s ship which was a mini playground for toddlers.
The Cinemine had seats for us to watch Angry Birds shows on TV.
At the Balance Bike Lagoon (below), my daughter tried balancing herself on a bicycle with no pedals while sliding down the slope. It was not as easy as it looked.
Birds Nest Climbing Track and GO! Kart
Right next to the toddlers play area was the Birds Nest Climbing Track which was a larger-scale children’s playground with slides and ropes to climb.
Below the Climbing Track was the Angry Birds GO! Kart Track, something definitely fun to try out. The GO! Karts came in two sizes – one for the younger ones and one for teens and adults.
Next to the Climbing and Go Kart Tracks was another area with activities more suited for older kids and adults.
One of it was the Space Drop Airbag where you have to jump off from a platform onto the airbag. Would you dare to jump?
At Red Bird Goal, you have to hit the red squares with the soccer ball within a time limit.
The Foam Pit and More
I was proud that my two girls dared to swing like a tarzan and land in the Giant Leap Foam Pit.
One thing that no one tried was jumping into the Foam Pit from this tiny trampoline. Looking at the angle of the trampoline, is it even possible?
There was also an Air Parkour Track and several Anti-gravity Trampolines. My kids loved jumping on the trampolines.
One thing we couldn’t get spinning was the Spinning Time Machine.
According to the instructions, you are supposed to be able to spin 360 degrees.
If you are good with scooters, try going down a steep slope on a scooter at the Lazer Bird Scoot, then turnaround on another slope and back up the first one.
Angry Birds Space
One of our favourite activity was the Laser Maze Spaceship.
It reminded me of Catherine Zeta-Jones in the movie Entrapment.
Do you think you can manoeuvre through the lasers without touching them? If yes, how fast can you do it?
If not, how about trying the “Easy” level first? (picture on the right)
Our last activity at the park was trying a real life version of Angry Birds game at the Piggy Shooting Gallery.
You might be an Angry Birds game expert on the smart phone/tablet, but can you shoot down those piggies using an actual air cannon?
Map of the Activity Park
Here is the map of the Activity Park. I must admit that I did not have high expectations of an indoor theme park initially, but the park exceeded my expectations. I was expecting the park to be for young kids only, but was pleasantly surprised to discover the park had great activities suitable for the entire family!
There is an Angry Birds Souvenir Shop at the entrance of the park.
There is also supposed to be an Angry Birds Cafe at the entrance but it was not opened yet when we visited.
Getting There
Address: Level 3, KOMTAR JBCC, Johor Bahru City Centre, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor.
GPS coordinates: 1.463849, 103.763028
Komtar JBCC is connected to the Johor Bahru Checkpoint and Immigration (Link 1) via a link bridge, making it easy to get there from Singapore by public transport. It is also connected via a link bridge to City Square Mall. We came early on Sunday to beat the long queues at the checkpoint and parked at City Square Mall.
Tips on visiting Angry Birds Activity Park Johor
- The park is opened from 10am to 10pm daily. There are 3 sessions – 10am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm and 6pm to 10pm. We went on Sunday and started at 10am when there were not many people and it took us about 2 hours to complete all the activities in the park. We saw more people coming in at around noon. Note that Sunday is a working day in Johor so the attractions will not be as crowded as Saturday.
- There is a Parents’ Lounge on the second floor for parents who do not want to enter the park but want to be able to watch over their kids, but my advice is to join the kids and have fun at the park together.
- Visitors to the park are required to wear socks. Shoes are to be placed at the shoe rack before entering the park. Save RM3 per person by bringing your own socks.
- There is also a locker area to keep your stuff but you have to pay for the use of the locker.
- Tickets can be purchased online from the official website at angrybirdsactivitypark.my or at the ticket counter onsite. There is a family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children at RM230 for non-locals.
I want to confirm any locker can store big luggage (size 28″)?
Hi there Leanne. The lockers at Angry Birds Park are not big enough to fit your suitcase, but there is no harm asking the staff there to see if they can help you out.
how many hours did you spend to enjoy the angry birds park? thanks
Hi, we spent about 2 hours at the park. At the time that we went, it was still nee and less crowded.
which budget hotel within walking distance to big shopping mall, like jusco, texco etc. But must be near by legoland water park, or near anygry bird park taxi ride no more then 10 mins.
You can try Affiniti Residences located about 600m from Legoland.
I WILL BE TRAVELLING FROM SINGAPORE TO jOHOR, WANT TO TAKE MY KIDS TO LEGOLAND WATER PARK AND ANGRY BIRD PARK. HOW FAR TRAVEL BETWEEN THESE TWO PARK BY TAXI
Hi there, it takes about 30 min by taxi from Legoland to Angry Birds Park.
