Featherdale Wildlife Park is a zoo in Sydney with lots of native Australian wildlife and bids. The park had a number of marsupials including kangaroos, wallabies, wombat and the Tasmanian devil. We got to see the most adorable koala bear cuddling up on a tree.
We also got to see several reptiles like crocodiles, turtles, lizards and snakes.
If you are brave enough, try holding a snake and smile at the camera.
The park also had a variety of Aussie birds including kingfishers, emu, stork and soft bills.
The great part about the Featherdale Wildlife Park is the opportunity to interact with the animals.
My kids’ favourite activity at the park is to feed the animals.
You just have to watch out if you are the only one with food amongst many hungry kangaroos. Look at all the kangaroos waiting to be fed.
Suffice to say that the kiddos, especially my son, had a terrific time at this park.
A trip to Featherdale Wildlife Park with kids is definitely worth considering when visiting Sydney.
Tips
- A visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park can be easily combined with a trip to see the Blue Mountains. There are many day tours from Sydney that offer similar trips. We booked ours through Activity Tours.
