The Marina Bay Sands Light and Water Show is one show that you can watch in Singapore every night for free. The shows start at 8pm and 9.30pm. On Friday and Saturday nights, there is another show at 11pm.
Despite the daily shows, I have not gotten a chance to bring my kids to watch it until the recent school holidays. There is a little catch that you should know – although the show starts at the same time, you cannot watch both at the same time. You have to be at the Marina Bay Sands side to watch the Water Show, and you have to be across the bay to watch the Light Show. You can catch one at 8pm and then stroll over to the other side to catch the other one at 9.30pm.
Marina Bay Sands Light Show
During the 15-minute show, laser lights lighted up the sky from the unique ship-like rooftop of the Marina Bay Sands. I loved how the water reflected the colourful lights from the roofs of the Marina Bay Sands shopping centre in the foreground. The dancing lights were accompanied by music that could be heard around the whole bay area. I definitely think its worth watching if you are around the Marina Bay area.
Marina Bay Sands Water Show
The Water Show, on the other hand, was not as impressive as the Light Show. Yes, there was some excitement when a small burst of fire took the audience by surprise, but the typical dancing water and the video display on the water were not new, at least not to us. Despite that, I think it was still nice to watch because of the awesome city skyline as the backdrop.
I did like this dancing colourful lights making waves on a wall of water. I thought it looked cool, especially with the skyscrapers at the back.

Thanks for your webpage. Most informative! I’ve adjusted schedule to be able to see both shows.
You are most welcome Lisa. I am glad you find it useful. 🙂
I watch the water show before, but can u advice where exactly to watch the light show? If choose to watch the light show, we can hear the music as well?
Thanks for help.
To watch the light show, you should be standing somewhere on Esplanade Drive, anywhere from The Esplanade towards the direction of Merlion. I took the picture from the bridge on Esplanade Drive.
Thanks 🙂
Is there any music/speaker that properly setup for ppl standing at the esplanade drive? Or what u mean was somewhat like overhear some indistinct music sound from far away? Because this make me think of Hongkong night light show when u said viewing from opposite bay. 🙂
Yes, there are speakers properly setup for people around the bay to hear.
Very helpful. Thanks
we have a plan going there 24 july 2017. is the show open on that day? what time?
The show is available everyday.
What is schedule for water show at MBS?
The show is at 8pm and 9pm everyday. On Fridays and Saturdays, there is an additional show at 10pm.
hi.. I travel to Singapore on October with my husband and my son. This is the 3rd time I’ve visit Singapore but honestly I never saw the Merlion or the light and water show. Planing to go there at 7 pm, because my flight arrive around 4 pm. So after check in at Hotel we would like to go to see both show.
I would like to see both of water show and light show. Can I see the light show from Merlion Park ? Because based on my searching is that Marina water show is located at SPECTRA Event Plaza.
For your information I would like to go to Helix Bridge and also Gardens by the bay. So what is your opinion? should I go to Merlion to see the light show first or should I go to SPECTRA event plaza to see the water show first?
So sorry.. I asked you a lot of questions hehe. Thank you so much for your help
Hi, The timings for the light and water show are 8pm, 9pm and an extra one on weekend at 10pm. The light show at Gardens by the bay are at 7:45 and 8:45. It will be quite hectic to do all three. If you are there on Friday or Saturday, then you can do Gardens by the bay first at 7:45, then the water show at 9pm, and the light show from Merlion park at 10pm.
